To mark the first anniversary of Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme, alt/shift/ partnered with VicReturn to celebrate strong public participation and engage the next generation in recycling education.
In collaboration with Scienceworks, we developed an interactive and educational installation designed to bring the circular economy to life—demonstrating the journey of a plastic bottle once it enters the scheme, from collection to reuse.
At the heart of the installation was a co-creation initiative with Victorian students. Through a custom digital portal, students learned about the scheme and the circular economy, then responded to the prompt “Why is recycling important?” for the chance to have their message featured within the experience—amplifying young voices in a campaign centred on impact and community.
